SAMEGRAIN APP KICKS OFF SCHOOL YEAR WITH NEW EDUCATION PLATFORM PARTNERS

SameGrain's proprietary matching algorithms connect and engage students, alumni, and faculty.

BALTIMORE, MD (September 30, 2015) —  SameGrain, an award winning social discovery app, today announced a series of education platform partners that will leverage SameGrain’s proprietary matching algorithm to better connect and engage students, alumni, and faculty. Current partners include a national collegiate honor society, a national education conference, education-oriented apps, and a global entrepreneurship institute at a large university.

Florida State University's Jim Moran Institute for Global Entrepreneurship (JMI) plans to rollout SameGrain across their campus this Fall. “We look forward to partnering with SameGrain and developing new tools and technologies to better connect our students, faculty, alumni, and community partners," commented Dr. Randy Blass, Professor and Executive Director of The Jim Moran Institute for Global Entrepreneurship. “SameGrain’s unique web and mobile app approach fits our mission and will help expand JMI's reach.”

SameGrain privately connects people near and far on more than 45 million match points.  Platform partners personalize SameGrain to better connect and network their own audiences via matched attributes and custom chat rooms. Users then download the free SameGrain app and enter a partner’s invite code to access their school or organizations section within the app.

The National Society of Collegiate Scholars (NSCS), a one million-member honor society committed to scholarship, leadership and service, was SameGrain's first education platform partner. “We both shared a passion for education and enhancing student engagement,” commented Steve Loflin, CEO and founder of The National Society of Collegiate Scholars. “Aside from better networking students across more than 300 campus chapters, SameGrain also provides us with valuable member feedback and insights.”

SameGrain matches users that share the same major, interests, beliefs, sports, style, health, habits, life experiences and more, which in turn makes it easier to meet future friends, roommates, teammates, ride shares, study partners, and travel buddies. The app’s location feature is optional, but can be used to locate like-minded students on the same campus or anywhere in the world.

Earlier this year, SameGrain launched Connected College Visits (#CCV) in conjunction with acclaimed college visit app Quad2Quad. Connected College Visits enable high school, transfer or incoming college students to match with other students who are touring, applying or recently admitted to the same schools. Students who enter the invite code “CCV” during sign-up or via SameGrain’s partner settings, can match and form connections between each other before they even step foot on campus or use the app as an ice-breaker to find shared interests with students they meet during visits.

SameGrain has received multiple awards, accolades and press mentions including this year’s Appy Award for Best Social App. It was also highlighted in Verizon News as one of the top apps for recent college graduates.

SameGrain requires iOS 7.0 or later and is compatible with iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. The company intends to launch an Android app in the future.
