How SameGrain worked

Grains, questions, plants and mulch — the mechanics the company described.

1. Answer

Each grain category is a set of fun, in-depth questions — about pets, music, travel, beliefs, health, work, family and more.

2. Grow

Your answers grow your grains. The app then shows what you have in common with other people, near or far.

3. Connect

Plant the people you want to grow friendships with. Mulch the matches that get creepy — they are never told, and cannot reconnect unless you recycle them.

Privacy

Never disclosed, by design

SameGrain called itself the “privacy first” social discovery platform because it made every effort to protect your identity and would never disclose your email address.

That did not remove the need to protect yourself — the company published a full set of safety tips alongside the promise.
