What this rebuild is built from, what is missing, and what was substituted.

The company’s site is gone. samegrain.com no longer resolves, and the iOS app is no longer in the App Store. What survives in the Internet Archive: the 2015 marketing page, the investor, contact, safety and press pages, the app’s JavaScript bundle, and the five App Store screenshots.

Every claim about the product, the grain categories, the safety policy and the coverage is quoted or condensed from those captures.

Where it came from

  • Home pagesamegrain.com, captured 2015-03-28 — the hero, the 13 “Same …” categories and their taglines, the two “Discover people like you” paragraphs, the three testimonials and the footer. Kept in _tools/archive/original-pages/.
  • Safety/safety-tips/, captured 2015-02-19 — the privacy promise and the full advice, condensed on the safety page.
  • Investors/invest-in-samegrain/ — the investor call and invest@samegrain.com.
  • Press/press/ and the news list: MAVA TechBUZZ, citybizlist, the Washington Post pitch competition, the ninth annual business plan competition, the $250,000 VOLT Fund award and Baltimore Business Journal coverage.
  • App copyThe 2017 app bundle (homepage.min.js), which supplied the grains / plant / mulch mechanics and the “Discover people just like you!” line.
  • ImagesFive App Store screenshots (recovered at 169×300 and displayed at 2×), the App Store badge, and the 32×32 icon.

What is missing

  • The category artwork and slider photographs. They were served from the site’s CDN (zippykid.netdna-cdn.com), which the archive only kept for theme assets — not for uploads. The category cards on this rebuild are built from type and simple icons instead.
  • The app. The iOS listing is gone and there is no Android build; nothing here runs.
  • Larger screenshots. Only the 169×300 thumbnails were archived; the full-size images return 404.
  • The privacy policy, careers pages and team page. Captured only as navigation, or behind redirects; no names or text are reproduced.
  • Any postal address or telephone number. None appears in the archived pages.
  • The company’s fate. No shutdown announcement was captured; this rebuild does not speculate about it.

The loop

The eight-second loop on the home page is not company video. It is a slow zoom over a montage of the company’s own App Store screenshots, assembled for this rebuild.

Deviations, stated plainly

  • Colour and type are reconstructed. The palette is sampled from the company’s own screenshots (teal #0d87a8, leaf #8abf3f, olive #4f5443); the typefaces are Poppins and Inter, chosen for this rebuild.
  • Icons are drawn for this rebuild — the original category art could not be recovered.
  • The markup is new. The original was WordPress; this is static HTML, one stylesheet and one small script.
  • Copy is quoted or condensed. Category taglines and testimonials are the company’s own words; the safety page condenses a longer original.
  • Nothing is requested from another server on load — fonts, images and the loop are local.
  • This is not the service. No account, matching or messaging exists here.
